Delhi Minority Commission recognizes SLIC for its outstanding contribution for the protection of human rights and awarded the founder of SLIC Dr. Colin Gonsalves the “Champion of Human Rights”. This award was given by the Delhi Minorities Commission for his outstanding contribution for the protection of human rights in general and for the protection of people belongs to Minorities and Tribal communities in particular. Ms. Anastasia Gill, the member of Delhi Minorities Commission had handed over this award to Gr. Colin Gonsalves at the SLIC office on 8th May 2019 and says “Delhi Minorities Commission had decided to give this award to Colin Gonsalves in December 2018 for his long fight for the protection of voiceless people and particularly for Kandhamal victims in Odisha”. Dr. Colin Gonsalves is the founder of the Socio-Legal Information Centre (SLIC) and Senior Advocate in Supreme Court of India.
