SLIC, Meghalaya Unit is based in Shillong, was established in 2016. The unit started its work by conducting fact findings on the PHCs and CHCs in West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills district along with another fact finding project in Ri-Bhoi District related to the maternal deaths and infant’s death. The Unit focuses on the variety of issues addressing Public Health, Disability Rights, Transgender Rights, implementation of Sexual Harassment Committee in government offices, Environmental Justice, Right to Food, Child Rights, Women Rights and Right to Education. The Unit also engages in PILs and providing legal assistance to the other Human Rights NGOs and associations in the state.
