[caption id="attachment_12933" align="alignnone" width="125"] T.V. Ramesh[/caption] Hailing from a strong political background, it took T.V. Ramesh a lot to choose the career of an advocate. However, it is the same political background that is his greatest inspiration to work for people from marginalised communities. His passion to serve the community led him to stand for elections at the Vikrabad assembly constituency, Andhra Pradesh where his work as a social activist and lawyer lead him to gain about 3000 votes of the constituency. Ramesh works closely with Dalit rights activists and has taken a lead role in the filing of numerous petitions challenging the violation fundamental rights of Dalit and tribal people in Telangana. One of the most challenging cases he worked on was on behalf of a Dalit community whose sarpanch acquired his position with a fake caste certificate. Through this case Ramesh experienced the interplay of politics in the shaping and developing of the law. This remains one of the most fascinating aspects of the work Ramesh does.
