Corporate Activity and Human Rights in India
Edited by Gabriella Wass
This volume acts as a springboard off the Socio-Legal Information Centres' 2011 Conference on Litigating Against Corporations for Human Rights. The book is split into three sections. The first lays out the theoretical background to the tension we see between business and human rights; this is intended to provide some history and explanation as to why things are the way they are. The second section is narrative and includes speeches from the Consultation, in addition to some new contributions, to provide descriptions of the relationship between businesses and corporations in lndia. The last section proposes solutions and looks at the ways in which we can combat this phenomenon, primarily focusing on litigation.
