Law and Social Movements in south Asia was organised by Socio-Legal Information Centre which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru University ,Convention Centre dated from 16th Aug 2013 to 20th Aug 2013 besides India legal Experts were called from Pakistan, Nepal , Sri Lanka & Afghanistan as well as the human rights Institutions were also Called. The Workshop was attended by Lawyers, human rights Activists, Professor and Students. The participants got a rare opportunity to listen to very eminent Speakers including Prof. Babu Mathew is a visiting professor at National Law University who spoke on the Indian Constitution and Public Interest Litigation. Meanwhile other issues discussed in the meeting were as PILs in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Justice Verma Committee Report, Reproductive Rights, Disability Rights & Health Rights, Criminal Justice, Violence and Discrimination against minorities and use of the Law Right to Food in South Asia So as to understand better the law and Social Movements of South Asia.
