Trafficking in persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of Human Rights, every year,
thousands of women and children fall into the hands of the trafficker in their area and abroad,
almost every country in the world is affected by trafficking. Human Trafficking is being
identified as the third largest source of Profit for the organized Crime. Women and Children
are generally trafficked for begging, organ trade, drug, smuggling, bonded labour, Domestic
work, agriculture labour. Construction work, forced Prostitution, sex, Pornography and also
for entertainment. The Government of India through the Ministry of Home Affairs in
association with the United Nations Office of Drugs and crime has initiated a two year
Project for training the Law enforcement officers on Human Trafficking in four States,
namely Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh. Every country faces specific
human rights issues, but human trafficking Is a problem for every place on the planet,
wherever there’s poverty, conflict a lack of education, or political instability , vulnerable
people are at risk, Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry, sexual
exploitation brings in most of the billions of dollars of profit, but forced labor also generates
wealth, the university of human trafficking doesn’t negate the fact that the issue is multi
faceted and as a multitude of root causes. Certain countries are more dangerous that others
and certain people groups are more vulnerable, To learn more about specific human
trafficking issues and solutions.
The POCSO Act 2012, is a comprehensive law to provide for the protection of children from
the offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography, while safeguarding the
interest of the child at every stage of the judicial process by incorporating the law
accordingly. In order to address the heinous crime of sexual abuse and exploitation of
children through less ambiguous and more stringent legal provisions, the ministry of women
and child Development Championed the introduction of the protection of Children from
sexual Offences Act 2012. The Act was amended in the year of 2019 to make provisions for
enhancement of Punishments for various offences so as to ensure the safety, security and
dignified childhood for a child.
The supreme court of India Declared that Transgender individuals are a
Third Gender under the constitution and recent legislation has significantly furthered
recognition rights for transgender individuals. India is a country full of Diversity, where
people belonging to various cultures, ethnic groups, Languages and religious accommodated.
However when it comes to the transgender community, India fall a little short in
accommodating them, To understand the plight of the transgender, first we need to know who
they actually are, A transgender is an individual whose gender identity or gender expression
is different from his/ her assigned sex.
